Her grandmother\u2019s sister \u2013 Hope\u2019s Aunt Cindy \u2013 lives at the senior living community. Hope found it a perfect fit to create and volunteer in a new intergenerational program offered to Gig Harbor\u2019s 60-plus residents. Each Saturday morning, Hope visits the community to paint nails and instruct the seated yoga sessions. Both activities she enjoys, and wanted to share it with others in a way that was adapted for them.<\/p><p>Hope, who was interviewed for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gigharbornow.org\/news\/community\/being-neighborly-young-volunteer-bridges-generations-at-gig-harbor-court\/\">Being Neighborly column<\/a> of Gig Harbor Now, said \u201cJust because they don\u2019t do very many things doesn\u2019t mean they aren\u2019t fun to hang out with!\u201d<\/p><p>As for her motivation to volunteer, Hope\u2019s answer was simple: \u201cTo see people smile and to help other people.\u201d<\/p><p>With support from the Gig Harbor Court team, she will learn how to engage with residents in a way that is comfortable for everyone.<\/p><p>\u201cWe are glad to support Hope as she connects with residents through activities that matter to her,\u201d said LaTanya Jules, Executive Director. \u201cHer dedication to volunteering is a great example of the positive impact young people can have.\u201d<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Experience a Vibrant Lifestyle at Gig Harbor Court<\/h2><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>At Gig Harbor Court, we believe every day is an opportunity to live life to the fullest.
