When Kevin and Mary B. needed a place where Kevin\u2019s mother, Kathleen, could live with care and assistance, they found The Legacy at Cimarron<\/a>. What began as a search for support turned into a deeper connection that extended across generations.<\/p>

Kathleen B. moved to The Legacy in 2023 after losing her ability to live independently. She had spent months in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, facing ongoing health challenges. The transition was difficult, and Kathleen initially struggled to adjust.<\/p>

\u201cShe was determined not to be happy,\u201d Mary shared. \u201cBut over time, with the patience and dedication of the staff, she began to call The Legacy home.\u201d<\/p>

Through regular activities, therapy services, and steady encouragement from staff, Kathleen gradually found comfort in her new surroundings. She attended bingo games, connected with residents and staff, and enjoyed simple pleasures like watching hummingbirds outside her window. Access to an electric wheelchair allowed her to move freely within the community, restoring a sense of independence.<\/p>

When Kathleen entered hospice care, The Legacy team worked closely with her family, providing care and support.<\/p>

Their connection with The Legacy continued when Mary and her sister moved their mother, Susanne, into the community. A retired teacher, Susanne quickly settled into her new environment, attending events, therapy sessions, and religious services. Her cardiologist noted improvements in the 92-year-old\u2019s health, reflecting on the care and structure she received.<\/p>

Kevin and Mary remain connected to The Legacy, regularly visiting Mary\u2019s mother and participating in community events. Their experience speaks to the impact of a supportive environment for seniors and their families.<\/p>
