The connection was instant.<\/p><p>Since then, the renowned and highly accoladed chef has brought his signature creation, the indulgent and aromatic RumChata, into the heart of the senior living community \u2014 offering residents a delicious taste of downtown Santa Fe without ever leaving home.<\/p><p>\u201cI saw on his website that he does a lot of community outreach. I met Chef Fernando Olea at his restaurant and invited him to visit us,\u201d said Sell. \u201cThis is the beginning of a series we\u2019re starting with chefs from Santa Fe.\u201d<\/p><p>Originally from Mexico City, Olea has lived and cooked in Santa Fe since 1991. His cooking draws from traditional and contemporary Mexican cuisine, with an emphasis on indigenous ingredients. At Saz\u00f3n, he is known for reinterpreting classic dishes and for his signature moles. In 2022, the James Beard Foundation named him Best Chef in the Southwest.<\/p><p>\u201cMoments like this remind us that senior living is not about slowing down \u2014 it\u2019s about continuing to connect, explore, and celebrate life,\u201d said Karen Powers, Executive Director of The Legacy at Santa Fe. \u201cChef Olea\u2019s visit brought joy, inspiration, and a sense of place that our residents deeply appreciate.
