While you\u2019ll often find her riding her tricycle outside the senior living community in Alabama, she was absent for a full week during the summer. Each year, her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids vacation on the water.<\/p><p>The most recent destination was Doublehead Resort in Town Creek. As always, Jimmie headlined the family group chat with her ambitious antics.<\/p><p>While most might expect her to supervise from a shaded chair, Jimmie grabbed a life vest, climbed aboard a tube, and zipped across Wilson Lake to the sound of her grandkids shouting, \u201cGo Mimi, Go!\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cI just have always loved the water,\u201d she told journalist Alyssa Sutherland of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesdaily.com\/life\/general_interest\/faith-family-determination-help-butts-stay-active\/article_4c9bb531-8817-47ed-b6bb-a414a9102fb8.html\">the TimesDaily<\/a>. \u201cI water skied, I slalom skied and everything until I broke my knee.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cI never quit tubing,\u201d she added. \u201cI have a good-looking grandson that\u2019s tough enough to help me up and I tube every year!\u201d<\/p><p>The family captured the heartwarming moment on cell phone, which later aired on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waaytv.com\/video\/florence-grandma-makes-waves-tubing-on-wilson-lake\/video_2b3fbcfe-4e50-5d0a-b9d3-8c5d33d5dbce.html\">WAAY 31 TV<\/a>.<\/p><p>\u201cJimmie\u2019s spirit is exactly what we hope for here,\u201d said Laura Fithian, Executive Director of The Renaissance of Florence. \u201cShe reminds everyone that age doesn\u2019t define what you\u2019re capable of, especially when family\u2019s involved.\u201d<\/p><h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Ready for Your Next Chapter of Adventure?<\/h2><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>At The Renaissance of Florence, age is just a number and family is always at the heart of the story.
