Houston welcomed a truly out-of-this-world experience in senior living. Pegasus Landing of Tanglewood, the city’s first NASA-inspired assisted living and memory care community, officially opened its doors with stunning new updates.
Those who first entered the grand event, stepped foot onto a red carpet. Drinks like the Moonwalk Apollo 11, Space City Mimosas, and Strawberry Spritzers christened the debut Gemini Bistro.
Paul Spana, Space Center Houston’s Director of Collections and Curator, was the special guest speaker. Pegasus Landing of Tanglewood Executive Director Scott Perlman shared about the notable memorabilia featured at the community which includes:
- 16×20 Silk-Finish Apollo 8 ‘Earthrise’ Photo – Signed by Frank Borman, one of the most iconic images in space history.
- Apollo 16 Lunar Landing Module Replica – Hand-signed by Charles Duke, astronaut from the Apollo missions.
- Story Musgrave Repairing the Hubble Telescope – A photo that showcases the awe-inspiring work of astronaut Story Musgrave during a historic space mission.
- Mary Wallace “Wally” Funk Tribute – A display honoring the trailblazing aviator and the oldest woman to fly into space, highlighting her incredible achievement later in life.
Other exciting features include the Apollo Theater and The Launch Pad courtyard. Every corner of the community celebrates the spirit of exploration and connection. Chris Hollister, majority owner and co-founder of Pegasus Senior Living, had the high honor of the official ribbon cutting.
News of the grand reopening and unique renovations spread quickly, and was featured in the Houston Chronicle.

We’re proud to celebrate that heritage and provide a community where they can continue exploring, learning, and dreaming.”
