At Bridgewood Gardens, residents find different ways to connect and create through the community’s memory care program, Connections.

This science-based program focuses on building relationships through activities that engage participants at their own pace and learning style. Residents put their hands and minds to work with activities designed specifically for them.
Recently, residents rolled up their sleeves to make oatmeal and chocolate chip balls during a “snack-tivity” session. The process of mixing ingredients and shaping the treats offered a chance to be part of something hands-on and tasty. Later in the week, the group switched gears to crafting sunflowers, giving residents an opportunity to focus on simple but satisfying handiwork.
Photos of their fun times were shared on WHNT News.
“The Connections program offers activities that match residents’ abilities and interests,” said Sharion Walls, Executive Director of Bridgewood Gardens. “Whether it involves making a snack or putting together a craft, our goal is to create moments for participation and focus.”
