Things have been anything but quiet lately at Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trail. With warmer weather rolling into Texas, residents of the community’s “The Crafters” group have stepped outside, picked up their paintbrushes, and even gotten a little creative with peanut butter.
The community kicked off the warmer seasons with a bird treat project. Residents made feeders, then spent time on the front porch watching their feathered visitors drop by for a snack.
Meanwhile, inside, Executive Director Pam Hasson led a painting session where residents traded blank canvases for Texas wildflowers. Bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes took shape one brushstroke at a time.
In another creative corner of the week, a resident known for turning recycling into craft projects brought out her tools and supplies for a short show-and-tell. Finished pieces were passed around, stories were shared, and a few future projects were discussed before cleanup.
To round the marathon of creativity out, the community came together to make a no-sew fleece blanket. No thread, no sewing machines — just measuring, cutting, and tying. It now lives in the shared space, a straightforward result of teamwork and a few good fabric choices.
“These projects come directly from what residents enjoy doing,” Pam said. “It’s always interesting to see what they come up with next.”
