Juanita R., a beloved resident of Pegasus Landing of Mesa, celebrated a milestone birthday — 100 years! Born in San Francisco in 1925, Juanita witnessed an entire century of progress and change. Through it all, her commitment to her faith and her love for people have remained unwavering.
Juanita dedicated 37 years to nursing, caring for others, and sharing wisdom. She often says, “Love their soul, not their nasty ways,” reflecting her deep sense of compassion for everyone, regardless of their background.
Although Juanita has always enjoyed many sports, her greatest passion lies with the San Francisco 49ers. She’s been a loyal supporter for many years, with fond memories of watching their games. Even in her younger years, Juanita played basketball in high school and continues to enjoy watching a variety of sports today. One of her most beloved gifts for her special occasion was a signed Jerry Rice photo from her beloved team.
Friends, family, the community, and local journalists, including The Mesa Tribune, attended her birthday bash, which featured a live performance by Tina the Vintage Songstress and an array of delicious refreshments.
“Juanita’s heart for others and her joyful spirit left a lasting impact on everyone around her,” said Brooke Rogers, Executive Director of Pegasus Landing of Mesa. “It was an honor to celebrate 100 incredible years of a life well lived and deeply loved.”
