Residents from 75 to 89-years-old at Ridgmar Place Independent Living recently stepped onto a runway set up in their community for their third seasonal fashion show.

Twelve residents showcased one to two outfits from Chico’s summer collection, selected during a recent fitting at the University Park store.
The seasonal event has become a tradition at Ridgmar Place, proof that when residents ask for something to return, it usually does.
There was no stage lighting or fashion critics. Just real people wearing what they like and their fellow neighbors cheering them on along the way. Though the room was not filled with paparazzi, it had everything it needed to work: a runway, good clothes, and an enthusiastic crowd.
“We didn’t set out to start a series,” said Rachel Williams, Resident Services Director of Ridgmar Place Independent Living. “But when our residents started asking when the next one would be, we knew we had something worth repeating.”
