The llamas are back in town — and they’re visiting a group of seniors who love to dote and pet them. The therapy animals routinely stop by Cordata Court in Bellingham, Washington, courtesy of JNK Llama Farm.
The non-profit provides the visits completely free of charge.
And they’ve been a favorite among the older adults who call the senior living community home. While the camelids strut down the halls like they own the place, residents can’t help but stop what they’re doing to interact with them.

“Everybody loves them!” said Piper Parish, Life Enrichment Director at Cordata Court. “They are so mesmerized when the llamas parade through the building because of how big and beautiful they are.”
It’s one of the few events that can pause bingo games and interrupt crosswords, just so residents can see the gentle giants go by.
“The residents are always excited when the llamas visit,” said Heidi Hutton, Executive Director of Cordata Court. “They stop what they’re doing to see the llamas. It’s not something you see every day, so it makes it even more special that we can provide this experience for them with the help from JNK.”
