Pegasus Senior Living Celebrated Women’s History Month by Honoring WWII Veteran Resident

In honor of Women’s History Month, Pegasus Senior Living—a leading provider of senior living communities across the United States—was proud to celebrate the remarkable life and service of one of its most inspirational residents. Verna “Bunny” F., a 99-year-old resident at Magnolia Place of Roswell in Roswell, GA, is a trailblazer whose story is one of unwavering dedication and courage.

During World War II, Bunny played a pivotal role in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), a critical branch of the U.S. military that provided essential support during the war. She was involved in flying operations such as ferrying equipment within the United States.

Her service was recognized with numerous accolades, including the Good Conduct Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Medal. Family records show her last assignment was with the 400th Army Air Force Base Unit at Hamilton Field, California.

An avid news reader, Bunny was honored to be photographed and interviewed for She Served magazine. She also enjoys veterans’ events in her senior living community and visits from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). They presented her with a beautiful blanket, clothes, and flowers during their last visit to Magnolia Place.
