Big news has arrived in a small wooden box. Evergreen Place, an assisted living and memory care community, installed a Little Free Library on its property. The new fixture arrived during winter, and was installed as soon as the ground defrosted with the arrival of spring.
The concept is simple: take a book, leave a book. The Little Free Library sits outdoors near the building’s entrance. Residents, visiting families and staff are welcome to make as many stops as they’d like — no library card required!
The unique, public installation is part of a national network of small, accessible book exchanges.
“Our residents love to read, but more than that, they love to connect,” said Julie Westcott, Executive Director. “We can’t wait to see how this Little Free Library becomes a spark for conversations, memories, and new friendships.”
