In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, South Hill Village welcomed a group of students for some unique intergenerational programming for its independent, assisted living, and memory care residents.
8th graders from Cataldo Catholic School at St. Augustine spent an afternoon crafting with residents in memory care. The kids and residents worked together to create rainbow chains with pots of gold, celebrating the holiday and connecting through creativity.
The Spokane Irish Dancers performed a wonderful show, filling the room with smiles. For lunch, residents enjoyed traditional corned beef and cabbage, topped off with a festive green dessert.
Guests from D&D Partners, a local business networking group, joined the community for a lively game of Irish Bingo, handed out exciting prizes, and set up a fun photo booth to capture the memories.
“It’s always fun to see the magic happen when our residents and young people come together,” said Kari Miller, Executive Director. “Whether it’s crafting or chatting, these moments make everyone feel connected. And we’re lucky to have such a supportive community add some extra cheer to the day.”
